Summary of Activities for the Week; 7th – 11th August, 2023.
Regular activities in the office of the Chief Medical Director (CMD) Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor Chief Medical Director of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, Port Harcourt from Monday 7th to 11th August, 2023, running through working days of the week.
~ MONDAY 7th August, 2023
The office, Monday 7th August, 2023 opened her doors to receive visitations, memos etc.
1. THE CMD INSPECTS RSUTH FACILITIES IN PREPARATION FOR THE VISIT OF THE HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER FOR HEALTH:
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor led other members of the Hospital Management Committee (HMC) to inspect RSUTH critical facilities after a brief meeting at his office. This was done as part of the preparations for the visit of the Honourable Commissioner of Health, Dr. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh.
2. THE HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER OF HEALTH RIVERS STATE VISITS RSUTH:
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor and other members of the Management of Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) warmly welcomed the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh to RSUTH. Highlights of the visit was a brief meeting with a combined session of the Hospital Management Committee (HMC) and the Medical Advisory Committee, a tour of RSUTH critical facilities led by the CMD, and a closed-door meeting with the CMD.
3. THE CMD INTERACTS WITH THE UROLOGY UNIT IN RSUTH:
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor and other members of Management of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) had an interactive session with the Urology Unit to address some key issues as it affects the Unit and the Hospital at large.

4. THE CMD MEETS WITH CINFORES LIMITED:
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor and other members of the Management of Rivers State University Teaching Hospital met with Cinfores Limited, the ICT partners to the RSUTH to discuss ways to leverage on ICT for improved service delivery in the Hospital.
5. THE CMD MEETS WITH HMC OF RSUTH:
The Hospital Management Committee (HMC) of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, ably chaired by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, held her meeting and core management issues related to the development of the Hospital were discussed.

6. THE CMD INTERACTS WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF RADIOLOGY IN RSUTH:
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor and other members of Management of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) had an interactive session with the Department of Radiology to address some key issues as it affects the growth of the Department and the Hospital.
7. THE CMD MEETS WITH IHVN IN RSUTH:
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor met with the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) in RSUTH to discuss ways to partner for improved healthcare service delivery in the Hospital.
8. THE CMD RECEIVES TOTAL ENERGIES COOPERATIVE CSR TEAM ON A COURTESY VISIT TO RSUTH:
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, received the Total Energies Cooperative CSR Team who were on a courtesy visit to RSUTH to find ways of partnership for the development of the hospital.
9. THE CMD MEETS WITH ZENITH BANK:
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor and other members of the Management of Rivers State University Teaching Hospital met with Zenith Bank Plc, the banking partners to RSUTH to discuss ways to improve their services in the Hospital.

10. THE CMD VISITS THE FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTER EBUTE-METTA, LAGOS, NIGERIA:
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor in his quest to position Rivers State University Teaching Hospital as an all-round medical centre for excellence and service delivery, visited the Federal Medical Center Ebute-Metta, Lagos State, one of the best run public hospitals in Nigeria, on a 2-day working visit. He was received by the Medical Director FMC Ebute-Metta, Dr Adedamola Dada and the Deputy Head of Clinical Services, Dr Ibifuro Dennar.
