The Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) hosted a successful blood drive on Friday, June 21st to commemorate World Blood Donor Day. The event garnered participation from both hospital staff and the Port Harcourt community, replenishing the hospital’s blood bank and ensuring a steady supply of blood for patients in need.

Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, Chief Medical Director of RSUTH, hailed the drive’s success in meeting blood transfusion needs and thanked His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS, for his constant support to the hospital especially in infrastructure and manpower development that has enabled the hospital to deliver quality healthcare services to Rivers People.

RSUTH officials commended all eligible individuals who participated in this life-saving endeavor. The successful drive serves as a testament to the hospital’s commitment to promoting blood donation as a vital public health initiative.
