DR FRIDAY ENWUMELU AARON
Dr Friday E. Aaron was born on the 12th Day of June 1970 in Rukpokwu, Port Harcourt. He attended County Grammar School Ikwerre/Etche where He obtained West African Sch. Cert. (WASC) in 1986 and holds M.B.B.S degree from the prestigious University of Port Harcourt 1996. In Oct. 1999, he acquired Primary Surgery Certificate from West Africa College of Surgeons (WACS), Part 1, in Oct 2003 and Part II (Final) Orthopaedics /Trauma in April 2006. He has a Special Executive Masters in Business Administration (MBA) of the London Metropolitan School of Business Management in June 2015 and is currently pursuing Masters in Public Administration in the Claude Ake School of Government (UNIPORT). He was inducted a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management in 2015.
He is a FELLOW of 1. the Assiut University/ SICOT training Fellowship in Arthroplasty / Arthroscopy Assiut Egypt, 2. AO Trauma, University Klinikum Essen Germany, 3. University (UZ) of Brussels, Belgium, ( Arthroplasty Fellowship) and Little Company of Mary hospital Pretoria South Africa, and 4. International College of Surgeons (ICS).
He did his Housemanship in the State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri Bornu State 1996 to 1997 and the National Service at the Comprehensive Health Center Igbara Oke Ondo State. In 1998 he joined Risonpalm Ltd but resigned in 1999 to join the Rivers State Hospitals Management Board as a Medical Officer. He was appointed a Consultant Orthopaedic / Trauma Surgeon with the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital BMSH in 2006 having completed his Post Graduate Residency (In Service) Training at University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital and the National Orthopaedic Hospital Enugu as a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons. He Headed the Accident and Emergency and Surgery departments before been appointed as the Director of Clinical Services and Training (Deputy Medical Director) BMSH in 2015. Shortly afterwards in 2015 he was appointed Director Rivers State Emergency Medical Service (EMS) which he held until October 2018. Having distinguished himself in previous assignments, he was appointed the first Chief Medical Director CMD Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, Port Harcourt by the Executive Governor of Rivers State. His Excellency, Chief Barrister E. N. Wike, CON, GSSR, POS Africa in July 2018.
Dr Friday E Aaron is an astute Administrator and Manager. He was appointed Asst. Chief Technical Officer: Monitoring, Supervision and Data collections, Conditional Grants Scheme of Millennium Development Goal (MDGs) Local Government Tracks; Office of the Senior Special Assistance to the President. FRN. 2012 – 2014
He is a member of numerous organizations; 1. Nigeria Medical Association NMA where he was the State Secretary 2010-2012,; 2. Medical and Dental Consultants Association (MDCAN) Rivers State Hospitals; 3. Nigeria Orthopaedic Association (NOA), 4. International Society of Orthopaedics and Trauma (SICOT); 5. America Academy of Orthopaedics Surgery (AAOS); 6. Christian Medical & Dental Association of Nigeria (CDMA) Past State Chairman; 7. Nigeria Institute of Management(NIM) and 8. Arthroplasty Society of Nigeria(ASN) as Board Of trustee member
Dr. Aaron has attended several National and International Conferences with paper presentations notable amongst and most recent is a lecture on Strengthening Domestic Legal Frameworks; Protecting Health Care in Nigeria at World Health Assembly WHA. Geneva 2018. He has also published research works.
He is a recipient of several awards; notably, are:
1. Special Recognition Award for Selfless Service and Dedication to duty, Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital day. August 2000.
2. Japanese SICOT Award. Triennial World Congress. Istanbul 2005.
3.Service Award of the Nigerian Medical Association in August 2012.
4.Excellent Service Award, Deacons Board Living Faith Church P.H March 2015.
5. Award of Excellence of the CMDA RS
6. Recognition of Service Award by Ikwerre Doctors Forum 2018
Dr. Aaron is a devout Christian, a Deacon in Winners Chapel Int., married to Mrs. Mary Eberechi Aaron blessed with three children. In 2016, he was sworn in as a Justice of the Peace (JP) by Rivers State Governor for his Philanthropy and patriotism. He enjoys traveling reading and Praising GOD.
