Regular activities in the office of the Chief Medical Director (CMD) Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor Chief Medical Director of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, Port Harcourt from Monday 25th to Friday 29th September 2023, running through working days of the week.

 

~ MONDAY 25th September, 2023

The office, Monday 25th September, 2023 opened her doors to receive visitations, memos etc.

 

1. THE CMD PERFORMS ROUTINE OVERSIGHT FUNCTIONS IN RSUTH: 

The Ag. Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor started the week with a routine visit to various departments to ensure that operations are running smoothly, compliance with protocols and standards, addressing any concerns, and providing guidance to the staff on improvements and best practices. 

 

2. THE CMD CELEBRATES WORLD PHARMACY DAY 2023:

As he participated in the opening ceremony of Pharmacy Week 2023, the Ag. Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, joined other health sector stakeholders in Rivers State to celebrate World Pharmacy Day 2023. The purpose of this year’s celebration, which had the subject “Pharmacy Strengthening Health Systems,” was to honor and recognize pharmacists for their vital contributions to enhancing health systems.

 

~ THURSDAY 28th September, 2023

 

3 THE CMD PERFORMS ANOTHER ROUTINE OVERSIGHT FUNCTIONS IN RSUTH: 

Performing routine oversight functions is crucial for effective management and quality healthcare delivery in a hospital setting. The Ag. Chief Medical Director performed routine oversight functions for the second time this week. He visited different departments, met with staff, reviewed processes, discussed challenges, and offer guidance on improvements and best practices.

 

4. THE CMD PERFORMS ANOTHER ROUTINE OVERSIGHT FUNCTIONS IN RSUTH: 

The Ag. Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor joins the Honourable Commissioner of Health, Dr. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh and other stakeholders in the health sector in Rivers State to attend the workshop for the development of Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) Operational Guidelines, organized by the Rivers State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Institute of Human Virology of Nigeria.

5. THE CMD RECEIVED DELEGATES FROM THE NIGERIAN THORACIC SOCIETY (NTS):

The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor received a delegation from the Nigerian Thoracic Society (NTS) comprising of esteemed members including Respiratory Physicians, Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Chest Physiotherapists, and other allied health workers, on a courtesy visit to his office at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH). The purpose of this visit was to strengthen the collaborative efforts between NTS and the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital in the field of respiratory health and thoracic care. The courtesy visit marked an essential step toward fostering a stronger partnership between NTS and the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, dedicated to advancing thoracic care and enhancing the overall

 

6. THE CMD RECEIVED THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA NURSES AND MIDWIVES (NANNM) RSUTH CHAPTER ON A COURTESY VISIT: 

The Ag. Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, received a courtesy visit from the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) chapter of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), led by NRS. Ngozi Nnaji, to express their support for his leadership and to explore potential collaborations
