Summary of Activities for the Week; 21st – 26th August, 2023.
Regular activities in the office of the Chief Medical Director (CMD) Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor Chief Medical Director of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, Port Harcourt from Monday 21st to 25th August, 2023, running through working days of the week.
~ MONDAY 21st August, 2023
The office, Monday 7th August, 2023 opened her doors to receive visitations, memos etc.
1. THE CMD PERFORMS ROUTINE OVERSIGHT FUNCTIONS TO INSPECT OPERATIONS AND FACILITIES IN VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS:
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor and other members of Management of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) performed oversight functions by inspecting some facilities at the hospital and immediately addressed some emergency issues as it affects service delivery to serve the public better.

2. THE CMD MEETS WITH OPTHALMOLOGY AND PHYSIOTHERAPY DEPARTMENT:
The Departments of Opthalmology and Physiotherapy participated in an interactive session with the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, and other members of Management of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) to discuss some important issues that have an impact on the development of the Department and the Hospital.
3. THE CMD PERFORMS SECOND ROUTINE OVERSIGHT FUNCTION THIS WEEK TO INSPECT OPERATIONS AND FACILITIES IN VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS:
This week, the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital’s (RSUTH) Chief Medical Director (CMD), Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, and other members of Management performed yet another routine oversight task by inspecting some hospital facilities. They also addressed some urgent issues that had an impact on service delivery right away in order to better serve the public.
4. THE CMD RECEIVES THE DEAN AND OTHER SENIOR MEMBERS OF THE FACULTY OF CLINICAL SCIENCES OF RSU:
On a courtesy visit to his office, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, welcomed Senior Members of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Rivers State University, who were led by the Dean in order to discuss possible collaborations, particularly in the area of medical education and training.
5. THE CMD MEETS WITH THE RSUTH CHAPEL BOARD MEMBERS:
The RSUTH Chapel Board members met with the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, to discuss and address several concerns that have an impact on the chapel’s activities. The CMD reaffirmed his commitment to the monthly prayer and fasting program (RMPF) and the quarterly RSUTH Wide Prayer (RWP) and he urged the chapel board to ensure their success.

6. THE CMD ATTENDED THE COMMENDATION SERVICE HELD AT UPTH FOR LATE DR I. S. WOKOMA:
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, joined other dignitaries at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) for the commendation service held in honour of Late Dr. I. S. Wokoma. The Late Dr. Wokoma was a Consultant Physician (Gastroenterologist) who have impacted many young doctors teaching and mentoring them.

7. THE CMD ATTENDS THE FUNERAL OF THE MOTHER OF THE PERMANENT SECRETARY, RIVERS STATE MINISTRY OF HEALTH:
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, attended funeral ceremony for the mother of the permanent secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Health. Top government officials, including directors, permanent secretaries, and Heads of Parastatal, were present in large numbers for the occasion.
