RSUTH Highlights Importance of Inclusive Care

Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) hosted a World Haemophilia Day celebration, marking the annual global awareness day on April 17, 2025. The event, themed “Bleeding Disorders: Women Bleed Too,” aimed to raise awareness about haemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders, with a focus on women’s health.

Key Highlights

  • The Haemophilia Foundation of Nigeria (HFN), South-South Chapter, led by Dr. Maduka Akpevwe and Mrs. Gladys Ernest Njoku, visited RSUTH to commemorate the day and celebrate HFN’s 20th anniversary.
  • RSUTH management, including her Deputy Chief Medical Director (DCMD) Dr Simeon Uriah, reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment under the leadership of the Chief Medical Director Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor to providing quality care for haemophilia patients, citing recent infrastructure development and equipment acquisition.
