The Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) has been awarded the APIN/NCDC IPC Project Performance Award by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in collaboration with APIN Public Health Initiatives and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC).

The award recognizes RSUTH’s unwavering commitment to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) excellence and names it the Best Performing Model Facility in Rivers State.

Receiving the award, Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu Alikor, praised the hospital’s IPC Team for their diligence and professionalism, describing the recognition as proof of RSUTH’s pursuit of excellence and quality healthcare.

He also commended the State Ministry of Health for establishing the Technical Working Group on Infection Prevention and Control, noting that it strengthens ongoing efforts to maintain high standards across health institutions.

The honour reinforces RSUTH’s reputation as a model teaching hospital and a leader in infection control practices in Nigeria.
